Gatsby Original Art - Jordan and Nick Meet Owl Eyes (p. 47)

$200.00

Signed original art from my graphic novel adaptation of The Great Gatsby (Candlewick Press). This is page 47 when Jordan Baker and Nick Carraway meet Owl Eyes, a drunken party guest who is amazed by Gatsby’s library, and by the fact that the books are real, and not cardboard.

In this scene, F. Scott Fitzgerald writes,

“…we tried an important-looking door, and walked into a high Gothic library, panelled with carved English oak, and probably transported complete from some ruin overseas. A stout, middle-aged man, with enormous owl-eyed spectacles, was sitting somewhat drunk on the edge of a great table, staring with unsteady concentration at the shelves of books.

About the art:

  • Mixed media: digital line art printed on watercolor paper, and watercolored by hand

  • 7.25” x 10.25” art with approximately 0.5 inches for framing.

  • Signed on back

  • Please note that the speech bubbles don’t have text in them since that was added afterward digitally.
